II. Work in pairs. Choose a city from the list (one city for each pair):

Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Seattle. Additional cities for large groups: Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, Salt Lake City.

Choose the best pages from the hotlist given above and look for the information about your city:

1.  Origin of the name, nick-name of the city (if there is one)
2.  Location (state), geography, climatic features
3.  History in brief
4.  Population
5.  Economy
6.  Traditions
7.  Main sights
8.  Famous people, celebrities
9.  Curious photos

III. Learn the speech patterns for your presentation

IV. Arrange the collected informarion to make a presentation. You can use the presentations about Vancouver and Toronto as an example. Do not write too much text on slides. You can also place the text accompanying each slide beneath to be checked.

V. Send your presentation to your teacher for check-up. Present your city in class. Asses your mates' presentations using the rubric
